Kings Expressive Arts Summer Show Thrills with Talent and Creativity

The expressive arts faculty of Kings Academy was transformed into a vibrant hub of creativity and talent for the annual Kings Expressive Arts Summer Show on June 17th. This year’s event was a resounding success, drawing together over 300 guests to celebrate the remarkable achievements of the students.

The show featured a stunning array of Year 11 GCSE and Year 13 A-level art, textiles, and photography work. Visitors marveled at the quality of the work and the diverse range of project themes and artwork on display, showcasing the incredible talent of the students.

Entertainment for the evening was provided by the academy’s gifted musicians in the Corrick. Performances included captivating sets by the Kings brass ensemble and jazz band, as well as lively acts by James Jay and the Funky 5. The event also featured energetic performances from sixth form and Year 10 student-led bands, alongside a variety of performing arts acts, adding to the evening’s festive atmosphere.

Guests enjoyed refreshments at a pop-up café serving cream teas, while the student-led mocktail and glitter bar emerged as a particular hit among attendees, adding a touch of sparkle to the evening.

With over 150 students participating, the event highlighted the incredible dedication and passion within the academy community. The evening was a testament to the hard work and exceptional talent of all involved.
