Trust schools prepare to compete in the world’s largest school’s sevens rugby tournament

March 13, 2023

Trust academies Nailsea School and Kings Academy are thrilled to have been selected to compete in the prestigious 2023 National Schools Sevens Tournament at Rosslyn Park, the largest tournament of its kind in the world with schools competing from across the UK and internationally. The tournament runs over five days starting on 20th March, with students battling it out for the coveted prize.

Last year, Kings Academy U16 girls had great success as runners up, narrowly losing in the final against Ivy Bridge. The U18 girls also competed last year, reaching the knockout stages of the tournament. This year, Kings Academy are competing with teams in U14 and U16 Boys and U14 and U16 Girls, which has been kindly sponsored by Kings Fitness and Leisure.

The Nailsea School squad are competing for the first time this year in the U16 Colts boys category, selected as one of the 275 teams in this category. The students of Nailsea School were thankful to have received sponsorship from Pure Comms, JSR, and the Nailsea School PTA as well as working on fundraising themselves to help cover the costs of a new kit, away-day hoodie and travel.
