Trust Inset Day: A Powerful Start to the New Year
January 6, 2025
The Wessex Learning Trust began 2025 with a dynamic and inspiring Inset Day, providing staff across the Trust with an exceptional opportunity to connect, grow, and innovate together. With a focus on Curriculum Convergence, the day was packed with meaningful professional development and a chance to collaborate on enhancing the educational experience for students.
A Day of Collaboration and Innovation
Staff from all Wessex Learning Trust schools came together to engage in a day of learning, sharing, and growth. The event kicked off with a series of sessions designed to foster professional development, strengthen connections across schools, and explore ways to deliver a more cohesive and effective curriculum.

The day provided staff from across the Trust with a valuable opportunity to network, collaborate, and share their expertise. Colleagues from different schools and phases came together for a vibrant exchange of ideas and experiences, strengthening the connections within the Trust. This collaborative spirit fostered a deeper sense of unity, enhancing the collective knowledge and skills of staff members.
Directors from across the Trust led insightful and thought-provoking sessions that offered valuable perspectives on the ongoing work of the Trust and its future plans for curriculum development. These sessions helped staff gain a clear understanding of the vision for 2025 and how each school can contribute to the Trust’s broader goals. This shared understanding ensured that everyone was aligned in their approach to enhancing the educational experience for students.
The day also included numerous opportunities for staff to share their individual skill sets with colleagues. Through both subject-specific and broader professional development sessions, staff were encouraged to contribute to the growth and success of the entire Trust. This not only enhanced their own teaching practices but also supported the overall development of the Trust’s educational standards.
