Crispin officially joins Wessex Learning Trust

March 1, 2023

Today Wessex Learning Trust is delighted to welcome Crispin in Street, Somerset into the Trust as the seventeenth academy to join our leading Somerset based multi-academy Trust. Crispin brings 1053 students and 127 talented members of staff to the Trust, delivering high-quality education for students aged 11-16 from Street and across Mid-Somerset. Crispin is a very popular school which is well regarded for its academic achievement, wider opportunities, and the individual care it offers to young people.

The partnership between Crispin and the Trust is an alignment of values, as the Trust places huge emphasise on developing our young people through high quality education and care, supporting their personal as well as academic development whilst valuing, nurturing and developing our staff to provide them with the support needed to deliver outstanding education.

Paul Reddick, Headteacher at Crispin said,

‘Crispin took the decision to join the Wessex Learning Trust after a long period of consideration by trustees. Having been involved in Wessex Learning Trust developments for over six months now during our transition period, I have seen that the Trust is deeply committed to a modern academic curriculum alongside the development of students’ skills for future life which makes them the ideal Trust for Crispin.’

Joining the Trust is a positive choice for Crispin, as it will provide a wealth of opportunities such as vast collaboration between Trust schools to share good practice, knowledge and staff, as well as leadership support and development. Crispin will also benefit from central services including school improvement, safeguarding, welfare, finance, HR, estate management and marketing. With a centralised team supporting the school, leaders, teachers and support staff can focus on their core business – teaching our young people.
